About us

At the heart of the mission of Wyższa Szkoła Lingwistyczna is the belief in the need to educate creative, independent individuals who are, above all, fully equipped with the knowledge, competencies and skills necessary to pursue a profession. Our University has been fulfilling this mission since 1992.

Wyższa Szkoła Lingwistyczna is also a place that responds to social, cultural and economic challenges. By assuming the social responsibility that a university should undoubtedly fulfil, we make every effort to meet the expectations of a globalised culture and economy and transform into a meeting place for many cultures, religions and ethnic communities.

We see enormous potential in our international students. This also provides a valuable lesson for our Polish students, who, from the very beginning of their studies at WSL, have the opportunity to work with people from diverse cultural backgrounds. Multiculturalism—so characteristic of our times—is indeed an attribute of a modern, developing University. One like ours.

WORK-DEVELOPMENT-EVERYDAY LIFE

When we were taking our first steps, everything was different: the political, financial and economic realities. We were one of the first universities in Poland to introduce e-learning into our offering. For years, we have been investing in education supported by computer technologies.

In addition to such obvious aspects as flexibility in terms of time, place and pace of learning, e-learning enables a more active and individualised mode of study. We provide students not only with high-quality electronic materials, but above all with interaction and contact.

WSL is also one of the few universities in Poland to incorporate coaching methods and techniques (used by personal development coaches) into its curricula.

Degree programmes at WSL in all practically oriented fields of study are delivered in cooperation with external stakeholders representing the regional social and economic environment, who co-create the curricula with the University. They also adapt graduates' professional profiles to the current needs of employers and offer students placements for work experience and internships.

All social competencies and practical skills acquired by WSL students during workshop classes and classes delivered using project-based methods are taught by people with practical professional experience in a field related to their programme of study and chosen specialisation.

We are convinced that our hybrid-mode part-time study offering meets the requirements of the labour market.

Our cooperation with Spanish universities opens up broad opportunities for students to participate in trips abroad. It is an opportunity to develop language skills, experience a different academic environment and gain experience that pays off in further studies and professional life.

These trips are an important element of the internationalisation of education at WSL, allowing students to learn openness, independence and cooperation in an international setting through practice.
