Start off with a general chat about fashion and modelling. What do students know about catwalk, models, modelling, designers? What would they like to get to know? Ask students to work out a list of questions about the fashion world.
Students visit the FAQ site and find the answers. They choose 2-3 most surprising/funny pieces of information.
In groups of 3-4, students discuss the answers.
Tell the students they are going to read an article about a Polish designer working in Britain.
Before reading they can do a vocabulary prediction exercise -ask them to guess which words they would expect to find in the article.
Students visit the sites and read the texts. They make notes. Reading between the lines, they try to guess what things the designer:
Students write informal letters from Arcadius to his friends in Poland describing his life and inviting them to the UK.
If there is some time left, students can visit one of the sites and:
